Unstoppable - Rascal Flatts

4th Consecutive #1

Released on April 7th, 2009, Unstoppable was the group's sixth studio album and  fourth consecutive album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart in the US. It sold one million copies by October 31st.

1. Love Who You Love: Love Who You Love is mid-tempo and fun with strong steel guitar and lyrics about living in the moment and not being afraid to take a risk.
"love who you love / and say that you do / hold on as tight as they'll let you / love who you love"
2. Here Comes Goodbye: Another great ballad on the album and a single, Here Comes Goodbye is about that moment in a relationship when you realize something is different, and the end is coming. The relatable lyrics are backed up by the strong melodies Rascal Flatts is known for.
"here comes the pain / here comes me wishing things had never changed / and she was right here in my arms tonight / but here comes goodbye"
3. Close: Close is more upbeat, but it's unique in the way that it's reminiscent in a way that isn't overly sad. The lyrics talk about all the little things a girl does to relive a relationship, but the tempo and melody are fun and not dragged down.
"it makes her feel close / makes her smile it's like he's / with her almost / til the tears take over / she's still in hell / but she tells herself / she's ready to let him go / cause that makes her feel close"
4. Forever: Forever is another breakup ballad, but a slow one, about how a relationship never seems to be long enough once it's over, but the memories last and can haunt you forever.
"waiting on you / to run back through that door / to the way it was before / you left / it wasn't long enough / it wasn't long enough together / but it was long enough / to last forever"
5. She'd Be California: A fun, summer sounding song, She'd Be California compares a girl to the sunshine state with fun and creative metaphors.
"hey I bet / driving down Sunset / they're looking for a face like hers / yeah I've been all around this world / and she'd be California / if California was a girl"
6. Unstoppable: A more mid-tempo ballad, Unstoppable talks about all the things that love can overcome but with the strong vocals and classic sound that Rascal Flatts is known for.
"it'll come and make you whole again / it always will / it always does / love is unstoppable"
7. Things That Matter: Slower again, Things That Matter is really deep and emotional, talking about how we tend to get so caught up in our troubles that we forget what really matters: family and faith.
"time ain't on our side / don't wanna leave this world with / why didn't I / why didn't I"
8. Summer Nights: One of the singles off the album and an instant summer hit, Summer Nights is upbeat, fun and a summer party anthem that is fun, catchy, and care-free.
"summer nights / everybody are you with me / let that igloo cooler mark your piece of paradise"
9. Holdin' On: Slower and emotional, Holdin' On talks about not being able to get rid of the little things left over from a relationship. The lyrics are creative and fun, in a heartbreakingly emotional way.
"he's holding on / to the wheel / to the way she made him feel / to the shifter / to the pictures / every precious moment with her"
10. Once: Once is a more uptempo track about waiting and hoping that a lost relationship will suddenly come back. It's relatable and catchy, with a classic Rascal Flatts sound.
"now I wait by the phone / in the dark drunk on hope / I'm so lost I'm so alone / and I just want you to know / everywhere that I go / I'm reminded of us"
11. Why: One of the standouts on the album, Why is a heartbreaking ballad about the confusion that's felt by those left behind when a loved one commits suicide. The lyrics and metaphors are spot on, and the vocals are heartbreakingly genuine.
"God only knows / what went wrong / and why / you would leave the stage in the middle / of a song"
